Join just me (Andy) as I walk through a solo adventure for Call of Cthulhu, Alone Against the Flames. I quickly build my investigator and go through this totally not at all obviously weird town with its random festival. No I'm not here for the "festival!" I JUST WANT TO GO HOME TO NICE SAFE ARKHAM!
Episode 1 of Spelljammer! SPELLJAMMER! You'll get caught up in the SPELLJAMMER! Spelljammer is D&D In space. But without any real science fiction. Its pure fantasy still! Join this new crew of a Halfling Legend in training, a curious cat bard with a taste for adventure, a self-proclaimed Professor with a tonic for everything, and a Shadarkai out to prove she isn't a failure.
I posted about the benefits of a session 0 when we did one for Spelljammer and I don't want to repeat myself and these are supposed to be fun...ummmm.....you should have a session 0? Oh and make sure you go over the rules....And...stuff...darn it. They're important! Just watch.
I think this house is totally normal. Nothing at all weird to see here. And certainly no odd portals leading to lairs of powerful NPCs. Naaaaaaaaah. Totally normal place! oh uh yeah b-t-dubs, your dwarf has been replaced by a skeleton princess for like half this episode. Totally normal!
Session 0s are incredibly important functions and features of RPGs. They help you determine the goals, styles, needs, and wants of every player at the table (the GM included.) I can't recommend them enough. They may not all look like this, but this is what works for us. Talk about the style of play each player likes, discuss the campaign setting and what sort of adventures it can support and of course talk about characters and how they connect.
Task Force Unlikely meet up with some weirdos and work their way through this totally normal summer home for their masked lord of Waterdeep friend. Lots of good features when you think about it. Boxing robots. Mirror traps. Indoor Dragons. Loooots of good features
