A bit of fanmail, left stuffed in the pocket of a sleeping rogue. Dear Autumn, I’m not sure how to start this off so, how are you? The last time we met, it seemed like you were heading into an awful bit of trouble, what with the dragon and all. I prayed to Akadi to guide your path, and I hope my prayers served you well, although, you and your mighty companions seemed more than capable of handling yourselves. You might be wondering why I’m writing to you, as we only met briefly. I guess, I just wanted to say you and your companions made a big impression on me. I’m kind of new to this adventuring stuff, and seeing a band of strong warrior women was really, well, the only real word for it is ‘inspiring’. It reminded me of the tales my Master used to tell me back in the monastery growing up, and so to get the chance to meet such fierce and efficient adventurers such as yourselves… it feels like more than a young adventurer like me could ever ask for. I know many languages, but I don’t feel like I can properly find the words to express my feelings upon meeting you all other than to express my deepest and most profound gratitude. Thank you. I am terribly sorry about my travelling companion’s behaviour when he was in your company. He means well enough, although as I understand it he caused you all a bit of trouble, especially with that Ooze following you around now. Know that I took your words to heart and have been keeping an eye on him. And although he’s not there yet, I think he’s learning, growing, and it gives me hope. I thank the goddess every day for blowing you into my path to guide me to this opportunity. I feel our party is much stronger for it. I cannot thank you enough for this. When we parted ways, my companions and I infiltrated the Wizard’s Tower. Vinnie told me of how you detected many a trap when he was in your company, so I feel a bit of pride in reporting to you that I took your advice and that of Chadara and found a few traps of my own, through careful observation of course. I was, however, unsuccessful in keeping Vinnie from rushing the Wizard on sight. But, with some hard teamwork we were all able to take down the Wizards who had brought us to that castle to play their sick game. In their study I found a young Hippogryph whom I have affectionately named “Cheepers”. She reminds me of home, and I loved her instantly. I hope I can raise her well, and give her a better life than the one she was fated to in that castle. Luckily, Nella has been giving me tips in caring for the youngling. With her help, I feel Cheepers will be just fine. I’m also sorry about not being able to meet back up with you and relay all of this to you in person on the boat like we had planned. Before you could return, we were urgently called away to an Aquan kingdom in the harbour, on what we thought was a mission from the Tabaxi you saw in our party’s lady love, a mermaid named Testadura. I’m afraid we were brought on this mission on partially false pretences, however, as the lady Testadura did speak highly of her Storm of Stars, she was not in the promised location. We were asked to participate in this strange sport we were assured is popular on the surface world called G.O.A.T. Ball. In my many readings of cultures far and wide I have not heard of this sport, but it was no matter as our Nella proved to be quite the expert at it. With Storm of Stars giving us much hearty inspiration and watching our backs from the goal, Vinnie beating the other team off of the platforms like only he can, Nella expertly finding the back of the goal, and me using my powers granted to me by my goddess to move swiftly to where I was needed, we were able to work together to defeat the mighty Sahaugin team. I wish you could have been there to witness it, as I have been told it was quite the sight to see. I was even able to pick up some Aquan phrases along the way! Storm of Stars has been a great help and teacher in that regard. I hope he’s able to be with his love Testadura someday soon. I know not where my next journey will take me, but know I hope we can meet again someday. I wish to hear of your adventures sometime, as you seem to be a woman with a story or two to tell. Until that day comes, stay safe, and take heart in knowing you have helped me greatly along my path. I wish you well, and may the goddess bring you fair winds on your journeys. Sincerely yours, Mote Written by Soup
